Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Residents may drop off household hazardous wastes (old and unused pesticides, chemicals, cleaning solvents, oil-based paint only, etc.) every Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Naperville Fire Station #4, Rte. 59 and Brookdale Dr. (1/2 mile south of I-88).

Kane County will not be holding their annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event this year, 2006. Additional information on Kane County recycling programs can be found on the Kane County Recycling Coordinator’s web site.

The Woodridge Wastewater Treatment Facility (7900 S. Rte. 53 in Woodridge) accepts latex paint for recycling. Drop-offs are accepted June 1-August 27, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The usable latex paint will be filtered and re-blended into a variety of colors, types and finishes. Residents, businesses, schools, churches and community groups can pick up 5-gallon buckets of the paint for free during the same hours.
